Since 1938, Lorain Metropolitan Housing Authority (LMHA) has provided decent, safe and affordable housing for the low-income citizens of Lorain County. Federally subsidized through the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Housing Authority's Public Housing Program and the Section 8 Program provide housing subsidy in a variety of apartments giving low income individuals the opportunity to live in dignity while paying an affordable rent.

As the largest landlord in Lorain County LMHA has achieved its original focus to provide decent, safe and affordable housing for low income residents. LMHA strives to partner with local agencies to provide programs and activities to enrich the lives of its residents: youth, adults, elderly and physically challenged.
